The Issue of Homework in Teaching Elementary Reading and Writing

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou domácích úkolů, především ve výuce elementárního čtení a psaní. Teoretická část shrnuje dosavadní poznatky o vzdělávání na 1. stupni ZŠ, popisuje strukturu výchovně-vzdělávacího procesu, v rámci kterého vymezí domácí úkoly jako metodu a formu výuky. Také obsahuje kapitolu o výuce čtení a psaní na základní škole. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaký názor na problematiku domácích úkolů učitelé zastávají. Dále jakou podobu mají zadané domácí úkoly v elementárním čtení a psaní. V praktické části práce jsou popsány a vyhodnoceny výsledky výzkumného šetření, kterého se zúčastnili učitelé 1. – 3. tříd ZŠ. Výzkum byl realizován formou dotazníku. Dotazník byl doplněn zpřesňujícími otázkami. Cílem bylo získat odpovědi na předem definované výzkumné otázky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals the issue of homework, especially using homework in teaching elementary reading and writing. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge about educating at elementary schools, it describes the structure of the educational process and defines homework as a teaching method and form. A chapter about teaching reading and writing at elementary schools is also included. The aim of the thesis is to find out teachers’ opinions on homework as well as the forms of homework in elementary reading and writing. In the practical part of the thesis the results of the research are described and evaluated. The research was carried out on teachers of first to third years of primary school. As a method of the research a questionnaire was used. The questionnaire was completed by personalised questions. Its aim was to get answers to predefined research questions.
