The Effect of Social Rehabilitation on the Hospitalization of People with Mental Disorder

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem vlivu komunitních služeb na hospitalizace lidí s duševním onemocněním, konkrétně vlivem služby sociální rehabilitace. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak služba sociální rehabilitace poskytovaná v komunitě ovlivňuje hospitalizace z důvodu duševní nemoci. Teoretické část vymezuje hlavní pojmy jako lidé s duševním onemocněním, hospitalizace z důvodu duševní nemoci, komunitní péče a související teoretické koncepty. V metodologické části je popsána zvolená kvalitativní strategie a výzkumné metody. V rámci triangulace dat byla zvolena kombinace metod. Výzkumnými nástroji byly analýza dokumentů a polostrukturované rozhovory s klienty vybrané služby, která poskytuje sociální rehabilitaci lidem s duševním onemocněním. Empirická část se zabývá analýzou, interpretací získaných dat a prezentuje výsledky výzkumu. Výsledky prokázaly, že poskytování specifických forem sociální rehabilitace předchází hospitalizacím lidí s duševním onemocněním a pomáhá jim zvládat svou nemoc v jejich přirozeném prostředí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the effect of community services, specifically the social rehabilitation, on the hospitalisation of people with mental disorder. The objective of the thesis is to find out how the social rehabilitation service provided in the community influences hospitalisation due to the mental disorder. The theoretical part is focused on the definitions of the main terms e.g. people with mental disorder, hospitalisation due to mental disorder, community service, and related theoretical concepts. The methodological part is focused on the description of the chosen qualitative strategy and the research methods. The combination of the methods was chosen due to the triangulation of data. The analysis of the documents together with the semi-structured interviews with the clients of the specific service, which provides people with mental disorder with the social rehabilitation, represents the research tools. The empirical part is focused on the analysis and interpretation of the collected data and it also presents the results of the research. The results demonstrated that providing of the specific forms of the social rehabilitation prevents the hospitalisation of people with mental disorders and helps them to cope with the disorder in their natural environment.
