Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na komunikační schopnosti žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol – tři teoretické a jednu praktickou. První kapitola se zabývá komunikačními schopnostmi, popisuje pojmy komunikace, jazyk a řeč, zaměřuje se na narušenou komunikační schopnost, alternativní a augmentativní komunikaci.
