Behavioral addictions among people in working age.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá všeobecně behaviorálními závislostmi. Většina z nich je poměrně nový fenomén dnešní moderní doby. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. V teoretické části přibližuji nejznámější druhy nelátkových závislostí. Představuji jejich odlišnost, ale i společné znaky s látkovými závislostmi. Následně se věnuji moderním technologiím, které ovlivňují nejen svět dospělých, ale především dětí. Tyto technologie postupně mění způsob práce, výuky, mezilidské komunikace i trávení volného času. Praktická část obsahuje vlastní výzkumné šetření mezi osobami v produktivním věku formou dotazníkového šetření. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit postoj respondentů k novým komunikačním a informačním technologiím. Následně vyhodnotit, zda jimi uvedená média připojená na internet potřebují především v pracovním či vzdělávacím procesu, ke komunikaci s rodinou a přáteli, nebo je jejich chování návykové, popřípadě vykazuje známky závislosti.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with behavioral addictions in general. Most of them are a relatively new phenomenon of modern times. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part I am describing the most known types of non-substance addictions. I present differences and common points with substance addiction. Then I focus on modern technologies, that affect not only the adult´s world, but especially children´s. These technologies are continuously changing the way of working, teaching, interpersonal communication and spending free time. The practical part contains research survey among persons of productive age in the form of questionnaire survey. The goal of the research is to find out the respondents' attitude to new communication and information technologies. Afterward to evaluate, whether the devices they connect to the Internet, are used especially for their work or education process, to communicate with family and friends, or their behavior is addictive, or shows signs of addiction.
