The differences in perceptions of selected elements of organizational culture among the introverts and extraverts

Abstract:

Práce si klade za cíl přinést poznatky a netradiční pohled na firemní hodnoty z pohledu zaměření osobnosti z hlediska introverze/extraverze. Ve výzkumné části je cílem porovnat, jak ve vybrané organizaci vnímají oficiální hodnoty introverti a extraverti. Dále pak na základě těchto zjištění přinést HR a managementu organizace doporučení, jak hodnoty interně komunikovat a podpořit jejich sdílení právě s ohledem na různé zaměření osobnosti. Práce je postavena na rešerši odborné literatury a odborných vědeckých článků, studiu interních firemních dokumentů a na dotazníkovém šetření v konkrétní organizaci. Získaná data byla analyzována pomocí statistického testování i popisné statistiky. Prvním krokem bylo rozdělení respondentů na introverty a extraverty pomocí NEO diagnostického testu. Poté, co byl shromážděn dostatečný vzorek odpovědí introvertů i extravertů, interpretovala jsem výpovědi těchto populací a prostřednictvím statistických testů porovnala, zda je mezi výpověďmi významný rozdíl. Tyto nejvýraznější rozdíly jsem dále interpretovala. U většiny výsledků byla zjištěna shoda s dosavadním stavem poznání předkládaným v odborné literatuře a předchozích výzkumech. Závěrem byly výsledky předloženy HR a managementu organizace včetně doporučení pro další akční kroky.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to bring knowledge and an unconventional view of corporate values from the point of view of personality focusing - introvert / extravert. In the research part, the aim is to compare the perception of the official corporate values of introverts and extraverts in the selected organization. Based on these findings, next step is to provide recommendations to the corporate HR and management, on how to communicate internally and to promote sharing the values with regard to the different personality traits. The thesis is based on research of professional literature and scientific articles and researches, study of internal company documents and questionnaire survey. The obtained data were analyzed using statistical testing and descriptive statistics. The first step was to divide the respondents into introverts and extraverts using the NEO diagnostic test. After a sufficient sample of introvert and extravert answers was collected, I interpreted the testimonies of these populations and, through statistical tests, compared whether there was a significant difference between testimonies. I have interpreted these most significant differences. Most of the results were found to be consistent with the state of knowledge presented in the literature and previous research. In conclusion, the results were presented to HR and management, including recommendations for further action steps.
