Relation of Public Relations and Fundraising in nonprofit organizations

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je objasnit vliv public relations, neboli řízené komunikace s veřejností, jakožto hlavního pilíře pro úspěšné získávání podpory, neboli fundraisingu, v neziskových organizacích. A nadále navrhnout konkrétní návrhy pro zlepšení komunikace s veřejností u konkrétní neziskové organizace. První kapitola teoretické části se soustřeďuje na představení a vývoj neziskového sektoru v České republice. V další kapitole je přiblížen proces získávání podpory a fundraisingu a jeho nezbytná úloha v neziskových organizacích. V závěrečném úseku své práce se věnuji charakteristice, historii a cílům public relations a využití public relations v neziskových organizacích. V praktické části nastiňuji poznatky z vlastní zkušenosti vlivu public relations na úspěšnost fundraisingu, a to nejen z hlediska neziskové organizace jako celku, ale také z hlediska jejích dílčích částí či jednotlivých fundraisingových projektů. Rozhodla jsem se zde blíže přiblížit tři různě zrealizované fundraisingové projekty s podporou public relations, od jejich vzniku, posléze realizaci až po vyhodnocení.

Abstract:

The aim of the theses is to clarify the impact of public relations , the managed flow of communication with the public, as the main pillar of successful fundraising in nonprofit organizations. The next objective is to formulate specific proposals for improvement of public relations in a specific nonprofit organization. The first chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the introduction and development of the nonprofit sector of the Czech republic. The next chapter expounds on the process of getting support and fundraising and its important role in nonprofit organizations. I devote the final section of my work to the characteristics, history and goals of public relations, and the use of public relations in nonprofit organizations. In the practical part I outline my own acquired experience and the impact of public relations on the success of fundraising, not only in the terms of non-profit organizations as a whole, but also in terms of its component parts, or individual fundraising projects. I decided to further bring here three different fundraising projects implemented with the support of public relations, from their inception, to their implementation and evaluation.
