General Nurses' Awareness About the Prevention of the Burnout Syndrome

Abstract:

Téma bakalářské práce je informovanost všeobecných sester o prevenci syndromu vyhoření. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá popisem syndromu vyhoření, jeho charakteristikou, stádii, projevy a rizikovými faktory. Dále zkoumá stres, jeho definici, druhy, dělení a fáze. Důležitou částí je prevence syndromu vyhoření, zahrnující individuální prevenci, prevenci na úrovni organizace, vztahy s okolím, duševní hygienu, relaxační techniky (dechová a svalová relaxace, meditace) a vztah fyzické kondice a kvality spánku na prevenci syndromu vyhoření. Praktická část práce používá průzkumné šetření k zjištění informovanosti sester o syndromu vyhoření, mapování informovanosti o prevenci tohoto syndromu a zjištění, zda zaměstnavatelé poskytují sestrám potřebné informace a prostředky k prevenci tohoto syndromu. Pro dosažení cílů byla použita kvantitativní metoda prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření vlastní konstrukce. Výsledkem této části je interpretace výsledků, diskuze a doporučení pro praxi. Pro zvýšení povědomí o syndromu vyhoření a jeho prevenci byl vytvořen leták obsahující základní informace o této problematice.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is awareness of practicing nurses about prevention of burnout syndrome. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part explains what a burnout syndrome is, it describes its characteristics, stadiums, manifestations and risk factors. Further on it talks about stress, its definiton, types and phases. Important part is prevention of burnout syndrome involving individual prevention, prevention on organisation level, relations, mental health, relaxation techniques (breathing and muscle relaxation, meditation) and connection between physical condition and quality of sleep as a prevention of burnout syndrome. Practical part uses a survey to find out about the awareness of nurses about burnout syndrome, mapping of awareness about prevention of this syndrome and findings, if the employers provide the nurses with needed informations and tools to prevent this syndrome. Quantitative method was used for this survey with a help of self-made questionnaire. The result of this part is an interpretation of its findings, discussion and recommendations that could be put into practice. For raising awareness about burnout syndrome there was a leaflet made consisting of basic information about this issue.
