Presidential elections in the Czech Republic in 2023

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na prezidentské volby v České republice v roce 2023 s důrazem na demografické členění voličů a faktory ovlivňující jejich volbu. Zahrnuje teoretickou část, která se zabývá politickým marketingem, politickou kampaní a genezí přímé volby prezidenta v ČR. Empirická část pak obsahuje analýzu volebních kampaní a výsledků 1. a 2. kola voleb. Práce využívá metodu analýzy dat z ověřených zdrojů, jako je Český statistický úřad a data získané z portálu www.volby.cz. Literární rešerše je založena na publikacích poměrně novějšího data, ačkoli je zaznamenán i nedostatek prací zaměřených na oblast politického marketingu a politické kampaně v českém prostředí.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the presidential elections in the Czech Republic in 2023 with an emphasis on the demographic breakdown of voters and the factors influencing their choices. It includes a theoretical part that deals with political marketing, political campaigning, and the genesis of the direct presidential election in the Czech Republic. The empirical part includes an analysis of the election campaigns and the results of the first and second rounds of the election. The thesis uses the method of data analysis from verified sources such as the Czech Statistical Office and data obtained from the portal www.volby.cz. The literature search is based on publications of relatively recent data, although there is also a lack of works focusing on the area of political marketing and political campaigning in the Czech environment.
