Education of social workers and workers in social services working with people with mental disability

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vzděláváním a identifikací bariér a překážek ve vzdělávání pracovníků sociálních služeb. Konkrétně jsem si zvolila skupinu sociálních pracovníků a pracovníků v sociálních službách pracujících s cílovou skupinou lidí s mentálním postižením ve městě Děčín. Cílem práce je identifikovat bariéry, které při procesu vzdělávání pracovníků vznikají, a to z osobního i organizačního hlediska. Na základě těchto informací vytvořit podklad pro návrh k profesnímu rozvoji a inovaci systému vzdělávání v organizaci. V rámci kvalitativního šetření jsem uskutečnila rozhovory s pracovníky třech poskytovatelů sociálních služeb. Zaměřuji se na jednotlivé kroky vzdělávacího procesu, z nichž vychází identifikované bariéry rozčleněné do kategorií na bariéry situační, institucionální, osobnostní. Dle získaných informací významné bariéry tvoří především nedostatek financí a času. Za důležitou překážku je označován také nedostatek motivace ze strany zaměstnavatele a nedostatečná kvalita kurzů. Nalezené bariéry spojené s organizací a formou vzdělávání pak ukazují konkrétní příklady překážek jako je přílišná teoretičnost kurzů nebo náročnost vyhledání kvalitního kurzu.

Abstract:

The final thesis deals with the education and identification of barriers and obstacles in the training of social workers. I specifically have chosen a group of social workers and workers in social services working with the target group of people with intellectual disabilities in the city of Děčín. The aim of the thesis is to identify the barriers which arise during the process of education from the personal and organizational point of view. And on the basis of this information to create a basis for a plan for a professional development and innovation of the education system in the organization. As a part of qualitative survey I have interviewed employees of three social service providers. I have focused on the individual steps of the educational process on which the identified barriers are based divided into categories of situational, institutional and personal barriers. According to the obtained information the main barriers are lack of time and money. The important barrier is also lack of motivation on the part of employer and insufficient quality of courses. The barriers which I have found associated with the organization and form of education show particular examples of obstacles as too much theory in courses and difficulties in finding quality courses.
