Research on "Selforganization" in Context of Success and Social Status

Abstract:

Text se zabývá vztahem mezi sebeorganizací, tj. způsoby, kterými žijeme, přemýšlíme, máme osobní a pracovní vztahy, a naším úspěchem, tj. prestiží našeho sociálního postavení. Zkoumám nejprve, jak si tyto vztahy vysvětlují autoři na poli psychologie, sociologie, managementu i populární „success-literature“. Následně analyzuji (interpretativní fenomenologická analýza) hloubkové rozhovory se dvěma ženami a jedním mužem s různým sociálním postavením. Otázkami se snažím zjistit informace z oblastí osobnosti účastníka, vztahů s okolím, pracovního a osobního života, hodnot, postojů a dalších psychologických a socioekonomických témat. Své interpretace stavím na symbolické diskursivní konstrukci výše uvedených témat z výpovědí účastníků. V diskuzi následně porovnávám výsledky výzkumu s informacemi z teoretické části. V závěru diskutuji přínos práce.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with relation between selforganization, i.e. ways we live, think, have personal and professional relationships, and our success, i.e. prestige of our social status. First I explore how this issue is being explained by authors in a field of psychology, sociology, management and success literature. Second I analyze (via Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) depth interviews with two women and one man with different social status. I aim my questions to explore interviewee’s personality, relations with his or her environment, personal and professional life, values, attitudes and other psychological and socioeconomic themes. I build my interpretations - symbolic discursive construction of stated themes - on interviewee’s statements. In discussion I compare results of research with the information from theoretical part. In conclusion I discuss contribution of this thesis.
