The usage of the definite article and the indefinite article in the French language and their Czech equivalents

Abstract:

The Bachelor’s Diploma Thesis titled L’emploi de l’article défini et de l’article indéfini dans la langue française et leurs équivalents tchèques deals with the grammatical category of article in French language, specifically with the article definite and the article indefinite. The category of the article is compared with Czech linguistique devices which are used to express the same reality as in the French language. The Bachelor’s Diploma Thesis is divided into two parts. The first part, theoretic part, deals with the classification of the French and Czech language in the system of world languages, with the determination and indetermination in French and Czech, too, with the classification of the definite article and the indefinite article in the system of French determinants as well as with historic evolution of these two kinds of article. The practical part deals with the results of the research concerning the frequency of the occurrence of the definite article and the indefinite article in four pieces of literature as well as in our own journalistic corpus.

Bakalářská diplomová práce s názvem L’emploi de l’article défini et de l’article indéfini dans la langue française et leurs équivalents tchèques se zabývá gramatickou kategorií členu ve francouzštině, konkrétně členem určitým a členem neurčitým, kterou srovnává s jazykovými prostředky užívanými češtinou na vyjádření té samé skutečnosti. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První část, část teoretická, se zabývá zařazením francouzštiny a češtiny do světového jazykového systému, určením kategorie determinace a indeterminace ve francouzštině a češtině, zařazením daných členů do systému determinantů francouzského jazyka a jejich historickým vývojem. Praktická část práce zpracovává výsledky průzkumu četnosti výskytu daných členů ve čtyřech literárních textech a ve vlastním žurnalistickém korpusu.
