Serbian separatism in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje problematice separatismu v jedné z entit Bosny a Hercegoviny. Za cíl si tato práce vymezuje odpovědět na otázku, zdali aktivity politických představitelů Republiky srbské mohou vést k získání kompletní nezávislosti na Bosně a Hercegovině. Práce se také zaměřuje na vymezení základních pojmů a principů mezinárodního práva. Dále je zde pracováno s historickým kontextem, který je pro srbský separatismus naprosto klíčový. Práce dále rozebírá aktuální politickou situaci a aktivity Milorada Dodika, který jako prezident Republiky srbské táhne separatistické tendence v Republice srbské. Práce se věnuje i odrazu srbského separatismu v hudbě, a to zejména v písních nacionalistických bosenskosrbských autorů. V pedagogické části práce přináší pracovní listy pro výuku politické geografie na gymnáziích. K těmto pracovním listům je přidružena i metodika, která pomůže učitelům během práce s tímto materiálem.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of separatism in one of the entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of this thesis is to answer the question whether the activities of the political representatives of the Republika Srpska can lead to complete independence from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The thesis also focuses on defining the basic concepts and principles of international law. Furthermore, the thesis works with the historical context, which is absolutely crucial for Serbian separatism. The thesis further analyses the current political situation and activities of Milorad Dodik, who as the President of Republika Srpska is driving the separatist tendencies in Republika Srpska. The thesis also examines the reflection of Serbian separatism in music, especially in the songs of nationalist Bosnian Serb authors. In the pedagogical part of the work, it presents worksheets for teaching political geography at high schools. These worksheets are accompanied by a methodology to help teachers while working with this material.
