Young people's efforts to protect the environment

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na mladé lidi a jejich úsilí o ochranu životního prostředí. V dnešní době můžeme zaznamenat nárůst mladých bojující za ochranu životního prostředí především skrze environmentální hnutí a organizace. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda se mladí lidé v Evropě zajímají o životní prostředí více než starší generace. Cíle bylo dosaženo kvantitativní analýzou sekundárních dat EVS (European Value Study) z let 1999, 2008 a 2017 a doplněno popisnou statistikou z ESS (European Social Survey).

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on young people and their efforts to protect the environment. Today, we can see the increase of young people fighting for environmental protection, primarily through the environmental movements and organisations. The aim of the work was to find out whether young people in Europe are more interested in the environment than the older generation. The target was achieved by a quantitative analysis of secondary data of the EVS (European Value Study) research from the years 1999, 2008 and 2017 and supplemented by descriptive statistic from the ESS (European Social Survey).
