Free time activities and cultural life of one-room schools in villages around Brno

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá volnočasovými aktivitami a kulturním životem málotřídních škol v obcích v okrese Brno – venkov. Teoretická část se snaží popsat historii i současnou situaci málotřídních škol v českých zemích. Málotřídní školy jsou dávány do souvislosti i s alternativními školami. Práce se také zabývá výhodami a nevýhodami tohoto typu školy. Součástí teoretické části jsou odborné definice týkající se volnočasových aktivit a jejich klasifikace. Empirická část se snaží zmapovat málotřídní školy v okrese Brno – venkov. Výzkum se zaměřuje na konkrétní kulturní a společenské programy málotřídních škol, volnočasové aktivity pro děti, existenční situaci, ale i na výhody a nevýhody málotřídní školy z pohledu ředitelů a starostů. Zjištěné údaje podporují snahy o zachování málotřídních škol na vesnicích a směřují k optimistickému pohledu na fungování málotřídních škol i v budoucnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with leisure activities and cultural life of the small schools in villages in the district Brno - venkov. Theoretical part tries to describe the history and current situation of small schools in the Czech lands. Small school have been associated with alternative schools. The paper also addresses the advantages and disadvantages of this type of school. The theoretical part of the technical definitions related to leisure activities and their classification. The empirical part is trying to map the small school district in Brno - country. Research focuses on specific cultural and social programs, small schools, leisure activities for children existential situation, but also the advantages and disadvantages of the small school from the perspective of directors and mayors. The figures support the efforts to maintain small schools in villages and lead to an optimistic view on the functioning of small schools in the future.
