The aim of this thesis is to analyze the translation of proper names in novels by George Sand. Ten translations of the period from 1866 to 1977 were examined within this thesis. Tato diplomová práce si klade za cíl analyzovat překlad vlastních jmen ve vybraných dílech George Sandové. V rámci práce bylo zkoumáno deset překladů z období od roku 1866 do roku 1977. Tři z těchto překladů byly vydány ve druhé polovině 19. století, pět vyšlo mezi dvěma světovými válkami a dva překlady byly vydány po roce 1945.
