Intercultural Communication in German Enterprises in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis Intercultural Communication in German Enterprises in the Czech Republic follows the subject of the cultural specificities between Czechs and Germans, whose exploration and understanding is important for mutual communication and cooperation. The aim of this work is to analyze the perception of cultural standards in both countries and to determine, any misunderstandings arising from cultural differences. The first parts deals with the theorical background. The basic concepts of intercultural communication such as intercultural competence, cultural standards, and cultural dimensions are explained. The empirical part, a method of the questionnaire survey is used in order to obtain and evaluate information about communication skills, perception of cultural standards of the countries concerned and motivation to further education in the field of intercultural communication. A sample of respondents in the Czech-German enterprises was selected. Results and some recommendations based on evaluation of the research are presented and summarized in the conclusion.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Interkulturní komunikace v německých firmách v České republice navazuje na otázku kulturní specifičnosti Čechů a Němců, jejíž zkoumání a pochopení je důležité pro vzájemnou komunikaci a úspěšnou spolupráci. Cílem této práce je rozebrat vnímání kulturních standardů v obou zemích i případná nedorozumění, vznikající na základě kulturních odlišností. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vysvětlení základních pojmů z oblasti interkulturní komunikace jako interkulturní kompetence, kulturní standardy a kulturní dimenze. V empirické části jsou metodou dotazníkového šetření získány a vyhodnoceny informace o komunikačních schopnostech, vnímání kulturních standardů obou zemí a zájmu o další vzdělávání v oblasti interkulturní komunikace ve vybraném vzorku respondentů v česko-německých firmách. Na základě vyhodnoceného výzkumu jsou v závěru práce předloženy získané poznatky a doporučení.
