Terminal weaning from the perspective of nurses

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Terminální weaning z pohledu všeobecných sester se zabývá problematikou ukončování ventilační podpory pacienta a přijetím této skutečnosti u sester pracujících v intenzivní péči. Jako hlavní cíl práce byla definována existence korelace pohledu zdravotních sester na terminální weaning v kontextu s tím, zdali jsou věřící, a zjistit, jaké názory mají všeobecné sestry ohledně přínosu, či škodlivosti terminálního weaningu v kontextu s vybranými proměnnými. Použitou metodou byl kvantitativní výzkum prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření. Výsledky byly ověřeny prostřednictvím vybraných statistických metod a na jejich základě byla provedena verifikace stanovených hypotéz. Ačkoli korelace mezi vírou a pohledem na terminální weaning nebyla zjištěna, byly zjištěny statisticky významné rozdíly mezi jinými proměnnými (například mezi názorem na terminální weaning a počtem setkání s ním).

Abstract:

Master thesis Terminal weaning from the point of view of general nurses deals with the terminativ of patient ventilation support and acceptance of this fact in nurses working in intensive care. The main objective of the work was to determine the existence of a correlation between nurses' perspective on terminal weaning in the context of whether they are believers and to find out chat nurses have regarding the benefits or harmfulness of terminal weaning in the context of selected variables. The method used is quantitative research through a questionnaire survey. The results were verified using selected statistical methods and based on the verification of established hypotheses. Although the correlation between faith and the view of terminal weaning was not found, statistically significant differences were found between other variables (for example, between the terminal weaning opinion and the number of encounters with it).
