Protein p53 patří mezi nejvýznamnější nádorové supresory, svou funkci plní aktivací transkripce cílových genů, proto se musí protein p53 navázat k svým cílovím sekvencím. Epigenetické modifikace DNA a chromatinu ovlivňují dostupnost sekvence DNA pro transkripční faktory a další proteiny. Protein p53 belongs to the most important tumor suppressors. Its main function is to activate the transcription of target genes which is why it must be bounded to its target sequences. Epigenetic modifications of DNA and chromatin affect the accessibility of DNA sequences for transcription factors and other proteins.
