Abstract:

Anotace Šárka Portešová Rozumově nadané děti s dyslexií Portál, 2011 216 stran, 978-80-7367-990-3 Rigorózní prací je monografie, která vyšla v nakladatelství Portál. Cílem knihy je seznámit čtenáře s problematikou psychologie a pedagogiky rozumově nadaných dětí se specifickými poruchami učení, zejména s dyslexií. Autorka vysvětluje, jak je vhodné tyto děti, jež bývají označovány jako tzv. „paradoxní žáci“, rozpoznat, jakým způsobem obvykle kompenzují svůj handicap, jaký je častý profil jejich schopností a handicapů při psychologickém vyšetření, jaký je obvykle jejich styl učení, paměť, motivace, tvořivost, jaké mají sociální a emocionální problémy a zejména jaké jsou možnosti jejich dalšího vzdělávání tak, aby byly skutečně rozvíjeny jejich schopnosti, nejen kompenzovány nápadné handicapy. Publikace se opírá o zahraniční poznatky, ale vychází z českého výzkumu a úzkého kontaktu s konkrétními nadanými žáky a studenty s dyslexií. Pro lepší názornost je text doplněn citáty rozhovorů a ukázkami výtvorů a školních prací dětí, komentáři jejich učitelů a rodičů a kazuistikami vybraných dětí.

Abstract:

The aim of this text is to acquaint readers with issues of psychology and pedagogy of intellectually gifted children with specific learning disabilities, particularly dyslexia. It gives on overview of the genesis of international professional interest in this issue and it is dedicated especially to the issue of psychological assessment and pedagogical identification of the population of the gifted. Emphasis is payed, among others, on describing the barriers and stereotypical approaches considerably impeding relevant identification. Moreover, the author also pays attention to an overview of typical cognitive, social and emotional characteristics of the examined population of the gifted and points to significant risks resulting from wrong or insufficient identification. The author explains how it is appropriate to recognize these students and how they usually compensate their handicaps. She also implies possibilities of psychological counseling and modifying ways of education regarding the examined population of gifted pupils and students. Book gives a detailed account of the so-called static assessment, the issue of an adequate choice of the assessment method and criteria as well as significant performance specifics of these learners in multidimensional intelligence tests used most frequently in the Czech Republic. Additionally, the author comes to a synthesis of the most essential requirements necessary for a successful process of identifying the given population of pupils and students.
