Current state of information education in the municipal libraries of the South Moravian region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Stav informačního vzdělávání v městských knihovnách Jihomoravského Kraje“ se zabývá situací informačního vzdělávání ve veřejných městských knihovnách v Jihomoravském kraji. Autor na začátku své práce představuje základní pojmy, jako je informační gramotnost, informační vzdělání a související kontext. Poté stručně představuje vybrané modely informační gramotnosti. Po jejich představení autor dále přechází k výsledkům první části výzkumu, které byly získány obsahovou analýzou vybraných dokumentů, které o informačním vzdělávání v knihovnách pojednávají. V druhé části výzkumu autor představuje výsledky druhé obsahové analýzy, která byla zaměřena na internetové stránky vybraných městských knihoven. V předposlední části své práce autor porovnává nabídku vzdělávání v knihovnách s dříve představenými modely a také s výsledky obsahové analýzy vybraných dokumentů v první části výzkumu. Na základě tohoto porovnání vyvozuje autor závěry o situaci informačního vzdělávání ve veřejných městských knihovnách. Výzkum zahrnuje kromě vzdělávání v oblasti informační gramotnosti také digitální a mediální vzdělávání, jež se s informačním mnohdy pojí. V závěru práce autor shrnuje získané poznatky a předjímá vývoj do budoucna.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis "The current state of information education in Municipal Libraries of the South Moravian Region" deals with the situation of information education in public municipal libraries in the South Moravian Region. At the beginning of his work, the author introduces basic concepts such as information literacy, information education and related context. Then he briefly introduces selected models of information literacy. After introduction of those models, the author moves further to the results of the first part of the research, which were obtained by content analysis of selected documents dealing with information education in libraries. In the second part of the research, the author presents the results of the second content analysis, which focused on the websites of selected city libraries. In the penultimate part of his work, the author compares the offer of education in libraries with previously introduced models and then with the results of content analysis of selected documents in the first part of the research. Based on this comparison, the author draws conclusions about the situation of information education in public city libraries. In addition to education in the field of information literacy, the research also included digital and media education, which is often related with information literacy. At the end of the work, the author summarizes the knowledge gained and anticipates developments in the future.
