Energy savings in public transport

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na dva nejdůležitější zdroje energií spotřebovávané při provozu městské hromadné dopravy -- elektrickou energii a pohonné hmoty. První část práce popisuje existující druhy paliv využitelný pro provoz autobusové přepravy. Shrnuje jejich výhody, nevýhody a zkušenosti dopravních podniků s jejich užitím. Dále jsou nastíněny možnosti úspor v elektrické energii, jejichž základem je využití rekuperace. Druhá část diplomové práce popisuje současný stav a budoucí směřování vybraného dopravního podniku.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the two most important sources of energy used in public transportation - electrical power and fuel. The first part of thesis describes existing types of usable fuels for operating the bus transport, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and describes experiences of the transport companies. There are also outlined possibilities for savings in electrical energy, which is based on the use of recuperation. The second part of the thesis describes the current situation and future direction of chosen transport company.
