The relationship between teacher and pupil in the Czech school of the 21st century

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o vztahu mezi učitelem a žákem v české škole 21 století. V teoretické části se věnuje vymezení humanistického přístupu ve vzdělávání, charakteristice učitele a žáka 1. stupně základní školy a jejich vzájemnému vztahu. Cílem empirické části práce je zjistit, zda je vztah učitelů 1. stupně základní školy k jejich žákům postaven na uplatňování humanistického přístupu a co konkrétně ze strany učitelů uplatňování humanistického přístupu ve vztahu k žákům ovlivňuje. K naplnění cíle výzkumu byla použita metoda dotazníkového šetření na výzkumném vzorku 64 žáků 5. ročníku ZŠ a jejich 4 třídních učitelů. Bylo zjištěno, že učitel 1. stupně základní školy úspěšně uplatňuje ve vztahu se žáky humanistický přístup. Toto uplatňování není závislé na věku učitele, délce pedagogické praxe, době třídnictví či počtu odučených hodin. Přínosem práce je zjištění, že v literatuře prezentované ideje humanistického přístupu je možné úspěšně prakticky naplňovat ve výuce na 1. stupni základní školy.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with a relationship between teacher and pupil at czech school in the 21st century. Theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to specification of humanistic approach in education and characteristic of elementary school`s teacher and pupil and their mutual relationship. The goal in the empirical part of this thesis is to find out whether the attitude of elementary school`s teachers to their pupils is based on applying humanistic approach and what in particural affects - from teachers perspective the applying of humanistic approach in relationship to their pupils. To fulfil the goal of this thesis, the method of questionnaire survey has been used. As a sample, 64 fifth-graders of the elementary school and - altogether - 4 class teachers, were asked to fill in the questionnairee. It was confirmed that an elementary school`s teacher successfully applies humanistic approach in the relationship with pupils. The application of the humanistic approach is not based on teacher's age, experience, an amount of teached lessons or the time that is being spent in the role of the class teacher. The main benefit of this thesis is ascertainment that - based on the facts taken from literature - it IS possible to successfully and practically apply humanistic approach in education at elementary school.
