Reflections on multiculturalism in the media literacy of high school students in the Ústí nad Labem region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Reflexe multikulturalismu v mediální gramotnosti žáků na gymnáziích v Ústeckém kraji" pojednává o současném stavu multikulturní výchovy a mediálních studií na gymnáziích v Ústeckém kraji. Kromě přehledu základních pojmů a znalostí ke zvládnutí problematiky práce přináší i náměty ke zlepšení do budoucna a rozsáhlý seznam doporučené literatury a dalších materiálů pro výuku multikulturní výchovy. Z praktického hlediska práce zkoumá nejen rozsah a průběh multikulturní výchovy, ale i znalosti žáků z tohoto oboru a dalších jim přidružených, jako například mediálních studií. Práce se částečně dotýká i toho, jak je na školách nakládáno s tématem sexuálního obtěžování a zda škola žákům poskytuje bezpečné prostředí pro řešení problémů tohoto charakteru. Kromě toho také zkoumá, zda na školách k samotné diskriminaci neprobíhá.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis "Reflections on multiculturalism in the media literacy of high school students in the Ústí nad Labem region" discuss the current state of the multicultural education and media studies in high schools in the Ústí nad Labem region. Besides the summary of the basic concepts and knowledge for mastering the problematics of the thesis, it also provides suggestions for improvement in the future and an extensive list of recommended literature and other materials for teaching multicultural education. From a practical point of view, the work examines not only the scope and course of multicultural education, but also the knowledge of students from this field and others associated with it, such as media studies. The work also partially research how the topic of sexual harassment is dealt with in schools and whether the school provides pupils with a safe environment for solving problems of this nature. In addition, it also examines whether discrimination itself takes place in schools.
