Watching the challenges of dyslexic pupils in French class

Abstract:

This study deals with the issue of specific learning disabilities, and more precisely of dyslexia. Our purpose is to link theoretical knowledge and practical cases. The theoretical part basically consists in defining what is dyslexia, its related etiology, its various manifestations and in drawing potential teaching methods that would ease the learning process of a foreign language. The practical part is dedicated to the observation of selected dyslexic pupils during their French classes, to the treatment of reports and surveys and finally to the analysis of documents written by those pupils. The third part includes educational worksheets that suggest possible activities that were inspired from the challenges faced by the observed pupils.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou specifických poruch učení, konkrétně dyslexie. Cílem je propojení teoretických poznatků s projevy pozorovanými v praxi. Teoretická část spočívá zejména ve vymezení pojmu dyslexie, příčin jejího vzniku, jejích projevů a v nastínění možných výukových metod, které by usnadnily osvojování cizího jazyka. Praktická část je věnována pozorování vybraných dyslektických žáků ve výuce francouzštiny, zpracování posudků a dotazníků a v neposlední řadě analýze písemného projevu daných žáků. Třetí část poté tvoří didaktické listy, jakožto návrh možných aktivit inspirovaných obtížemi pozorovaných žáků.
