The analysis of demand for green hotels in Pilsen region

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou poptávky po ekologických hotelech v Plzeňském kraji. Práce je teoreticko-aplikačního charakteru. V teoretické části jsou definovány pojmy ekologie, ochrana životního prostředí, environmentalismus, hotelnictví, hotel a ekohotel. Dále jsou v práci popsány jednotlivé druhy ekologických certifikátů a požadavky potřebné k jejich získání. Druhá, analytická část této práce, se dělí na dva celky. První z nich se zabývá dotazníkovým šetřením, zaměřeným na názor obyvatel Plzeňského kraje a hlavního města Prahy, ohledně ekologických hotelů. Podrobně popisuje a zdůvodňuje výběr otázek, použitých v dotazníku. Následně vyhodnocuje získané odpovědi a doplňuje je grafickým znázorněním výsledků. Druhý, se zaobírá problematikou ekologické certifikace a ekologicky šetrných hotelů z pohledu hoteliérů. Obsahuje dva řízené rozhovory na toto téma s představiteli hotelu Hilton a Boutique hotelu Seven Days. Třetí, návrhová část práce, je zaměřena na dostupné marketingové nástroje vhodné pro propagaci ekologicky certifikovaných hotelů a zvýšení povědomí o tomto typu hromadných ubytovacích zařízeních.

Abstract:

This Master’s Dissertation analyzes the demand for green hotels in Pilsen region. This work has theoretical and application character. The theoretical part defines the concepts of ecology, environmental protection, environmentalism, hospitality, hotel and eco-hotel. Furthermore, the work described various kinds of environmental certifications and the requirements needed to obtain them. The second, analytical part of this work is divided into two parts. The first one deals with the questionnaire survey, focusing on opinions of population of Pilsen Region and the City of Prague on environmental hotels. It describes and justifies the choice of questions used in the questionnaire. Subsequently evaluates the answers and adds graphical representation of the results. Second part deals with problems of environmental certification and eco-friendly hotels in terms of hoteliers. It includes two guided interviews on this issue with representatives of hotel Hilton and boutique hotel Seven Days. Third part are the suggestions of the work, which are focused on the available marketing tools suitable for promoting eco-certified hotels and increase awareness of this type of collective accommodation establishments.
