Abstract:

Tato práce srovnává raně novověký pohled teologů na smrt a umírání se současným pohledem pracujících s umírajícími. Pro účely práce byly vybrány tři raně novověké příručky Ars moriendi, v nichž se autor zaměřil na úlohu ctností při umírání. Principy zjištěné v příručkách byly následně konfrontovány s výsledky terénního výzkumu, který byl proveden na území České republiky mezi pracovníky s umírajícími a zaměřil se na jejich pohled na proces umírání. Cílem práce bylo vyhodnotit, zda raně novověký přístup autorů je aplikován, nebo aplikovatelný v dnešní péči o umírající. V rámci výzkumu bylo zjištěno několik shod mezi raně novověkým přístupem a dnešním pohledem na "dobrou smrt". Shoda panuje především v tom, že "dobrá smrt" pramení z "dobrého života." Výzkum také poukázal na důležitost smíření, víry a možnost využití ctností k motivaci udržení pozitivního přístupu ke smrti.

Abstract:

This thesis compares the early modern view of theologians on death and dying with the current view of workers assisting the dying people. For the purposes of the work were selected three early modern manuals Ars moriendi, in which the author focused on the role of virtues in dying. The principles found in the handbooks were subsequently confronted with the results of the field research, which was conducted in the Czech Republic among workers assisting the dying people and which was focused on their view of the dying process. The aim of the work was to evaluate whether the authors' early modern approach is applied or applicable in today's care of the dying people. The research revealed several similarities between the early modern approach and today's view of the "good death". There is a consensus that "good death" stems from "good life." Research has also highlighted the importance of reconciliation, faith, and the ability to use virtues to motivate a positive attitude towards death.
