Retrospective perception of learning and career plans of adults with specifics learnig disabilites

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou specifických poruch učení a jejich možnými vlivy na život člověka. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní poruchy učení, jejich historie a diagnostika, dále učební styly žáků s poruchami učení a možné způsoby nápravy. Pozornost je rovněž věnována souvislostem specifických poruch učení s motivací k učení a ke školní práci, s životními a profesními plány. Výzkumná část práce je zaměřena na výzkum specifických poruch učení z retrospektivního pohledu dospělých jedinců s touto diagnózou v dětství. Cílem práce je zjistit, jakými způsoby se jedinci se specifickou poruchou učení vyrovnávají v průběhu svého života a zda tato porucha nějak zasahuje do budování jejich kariéry. Výzkum byl realizován pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a výsledky z nich získané ukazují, že jedinci s poruchou učení mohou díky své píli, motivaci, podnětnému prostředí a za podpory svých blízkých dosáhnout dobrých školních výsledků i úspěchy ve své kariéře.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of specific learning disabilities and their possible effects on human life. The theoretical part describes the basic learning disabilities, their history and diagnostics, as well as learning styles of pupils with learning disabilities and possible remedies. Attention is also paid to the context of specific learning difficulties with motivation for learning and school work, life and career plans. The research part of the thesis is focused on the research of specific learning disorders from the retrospective perspective of adults with this diagnosis in childhood. The aim of this work is to find out in what ways individuals with a specific learning disability are coping with during their life and whether this impairment somehow interferes with building their careers. The research was conducted through semi-structured interviews and the results show that individuals with learning disabilities can achieve good school results and career achievements through their diligence, motivation, stimulating environment and the support of their loved ones.
