Young Gypsies solving their life situation concerning to living

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na řešení životní situace mladých Romů prostřednictvím sociální práce. Práce se zabývá sociální prací a možnostmi sociálních pracovníků jak pomoci mladým Romům v oblasti bydlení. V teoretické části je charakterizována životní situace mladých Romů, větší pozornost je věnována problematice bydlení. Blíže jsou vymezeny vybrané přístupy sociální práce, které jsou současně předmětem zkoumání. Pro výzkum byla zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná strategie. Výzkum byl proveden formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se sociálními pracovníky vybraných obcí a mladými Romy a také zúčastněným pozorováním. Výsledky výzkumu zdůrazňují potřebu cílené sociální práce a ukazují možnosti jejího využití pro zlepšení životních podmínek nejen mladých Romů. Pozitivním přínosem výzkumu může být zvýšení zájmu samospráv o problémy mladých Romů a vytváření podmínek k jejich řešení nejen ve vybrané lokalitě. Získané poznatky mohou být rovněž využity k vypracování návrhu na podporu sociální práce s mladými Romy ve vybrané lokalitě.

Abstract:

This thesis concentrates on the life situations of young Gypsies applying methods of the social work. It deals with the social work and possibilities of social workers how to help young Gypsies to solve the housing problem. In the theoretical part the life situation of young Gypsies has been charakterised, the housing problem has been more pointed out then. Selected methods of social work have been described in more detail and these are also the subject of the examination. The qualitative research strategy has been chosen to achieve the aim. The research has been carried out through the concerned observation and partially structured discussions with the social workers in selected localities and young Gypsies. The results of the research emphasize the need of the aimed social work and show possibilities how to make use of it in helping to improve the life standard not only of young Gypsies. Benefits of the research can be seen in the increasing self-governments interest to solve problems of young Gypsies and to establish conditions not only in the selected area. These findings gained might also be used for conceiving a plan how to support the social work with young Gypsies in selected areas.
