Kořeny konceptů výjimenčosti a siege mentality sahají až do biblických dob a při formování židovské a izraelské společnosti a jejímu přístupu ke světu hrály důležitou roli. The roots of concepts of exceptionalism and siege mentality dates back to biblical times and they played important role in formation of Jewish and Israeli society and its approach towards the rest of the World. These concepts were evident even in attitude of such personalities as Theodor Herzl, Vladimir Jabotinsky, David Ben-Gurion or Golda Meir.
