The use and the evaluation of the supervision in relation to the target group and the organizational culture

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zmapovat současný stav využívání supervize a hledat souvislosti mezi existencí, hodnocením supervize, cílovými skupinami klientů a kulturou organizace. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 235 respondentů. Data byla získána formou online dotazníku. Pro účely studie byl použit Průzkum oblastí pracovního života (AWLS) doplněný o vlastní sérii otázek. K analýze dat byl využit chí-kvadrát, analýza rozptylu (ANOVA), Pearsonův korelační koeficient a mnohonásobná hierarchická regrese. Výsledky mimo jiné ukázaly, že supervize ve většině organizací probíhá, a to v podobě týmové supervize s externím supervizorem a zaměřením na případ. Dle většiny pracovníků v pomáhajících profesích zastupuje především podpůrnou funkci. Analýza dat prokázala, že se existence i hodnocení supervize liší s ohledem na cílovou skupinu klientů, a že kultura organizace sehrává významnou roli. V regresním modelu se významnými prediktory hodnocení supervize ukázaly být kultura organizace, znalosti supervizora, přítomnost u dojednání smlouvy o supervizi, a délka praxe sociálního pracovníka. Závěry jsou diskutovány v kontextu předcházejících zjištění spolu s limity studie a náměty pro další výzkumy.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to explore the actual state of using supervision and search the relationship between the existence and the evaluation of supervision, the target group and the organizational culture. The sample consisted of 235 respondents. The data were collected through an online questionnaire. For the purpose of the study was used The Areas of Worklife Survey (AWLS) appended by my own set of questions. The analysis method was chi-square, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple hierarchical regression. The results, among other things, showed that there is the supervision in the organizations in the form of the team supervision with the external supervisor and focus on the case. According to most workers in helping professions, the supervision represents mainly supportive function. Data analysis bring the evidence of the difference in the existence and the evaluation of supervision between social workers working with various target groups, and support the important role of the organizational culture. In the regression model, the significant predictors were the organizational culture, knowledge of supervisor, the presence at an agreement about a supervision, and the length of the practice of social worker. The conclusions are discussed in context of previous findings together with the limitations and future research implications.
