Critique of Critical Period Hypothesis in Second Language Acquisition: Literature Review
Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the critique of the Critical Period Hypothesis in second language acquisition. The theoretical part defines the core concepts of both the second language acquisition and the Critical Period Hypothesis through the method of a historical overview. The practical part aims to review studies which provide results contradicting parts of the Critical Period Hypothesis.
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá problematikou hypotézy kritické periody v osvojování cizích jazyků. Teoretická část obsahuje definice základních konceptů, jež jsou použity ve studiu osvojování cizích jazyků a v hypotéze kritické periody. Cílem praktické části je poskytnutí souhrnu studií, jejichž výsledky existují v rozporu s hypotézou kritické periody.
