Israel between the United States and the Russian Federation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce má za úkol analyzovat vliv Ruské federace a Spojených státu amerických v rozhodovacích procesech Izraele. Práci jsem zaměřila na období vlivu od roku 2001, kdy začal svou premiérskou funkci Ariel Sharon – 15.premiér v pořadí, do roku 2019, kdy Benjamin Netanyahu pocítil po dlouhé době nejistotu své funkce a kdy se mu i přes prodlouženou lhůtu nepodařilo sestavit vládni koalici. Veškeré dění v tomto období bylo a je samozřejmě určitým způsobem vázané na historické události, které v této práci budou též uvedeny. Cílem je zjistit, která z těchto dvou světových velmocí, Rusko nebo Spojené státy americké, má největší motivaci ovlivňovat dění a rozhodovací procesy Izraele a také proč má tento zájem. Mezi další body zaměření této práce je i zkoumání, kam směřuje angažovanost Ruské federace a Spojených států amerických v řešení konfliktu na Blízkém východě. Budu zde věnovat pozornost nejen mezinárodním vztahům z politické stránky, ale i části vojenské a ekonomické.

Abstract:

The thesis aims to analyze the influence of the Russian Federation and the United States of America in Israel's decision-making processes. I got the job from 2001, during the period of influence, when Ariel Sharon - the 15th prime minister in a row - began his prime ministership, until 2019, when Benjamin Netanyahu felt the insecurity of his position after a long time and when he failed to extend the deadline to form a government coalition. All events in this period were and are, of course, in a certain way tied to historical events, which will also be presented in this work. The goal is to find out which of these two world powers, Russia or the United States of America, has the greatest motivation to influence Israel's events and decision-making processes, and also why it has this interest. Among the other points of focus of this work is the investigation of the direction of the involvement of the Russian Federation and the United States of America in resolving the conflict in the Middle East. Here I will pay attention not only to international relations from the political side, but also to the military and economic aspects.
