Lifestyle of patients with anxiety disorder

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce je zmapování čtyř aspektů životního stylu pacientů s úzkostnou poruchou pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu. Metodika: Metodou sběru dat byl dotazník sestavený z pěti již vytvořených dotazníků, a to konkrétně z Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA), Škály zátěž a stres (Z.A.S.), Fagerströmova testu nikotinové závislosti (FTND), Alcohol Dependence Scale (ADS) a Mezinárodního dotazníku na fyzickou aktivitu (IPAQ). Data byla získána od pacientů v rámci lůžkového oddělení psychiatrie. Kritériem pro výběr respondentů byla u pacientů diagnostikovaná úzkostná porucha a souhlas s účastí na šetření. Sběr dat probíhal za hospitalizace formou anonymního dotazníkového šetření v období od 3. 10. 2020 do 31. 12. 2020. Respondenti byli ve věku od 18 do 80 let. Počet použitelných a řádně vyplněných dotazníku nakonec činil 100. Výsledky: Z výsledků vyplynulo, že životní styl pacientů s úzkostnou poruchou je jejich onemocněním značně ovlivněn. Výzkumem se prokázalo, že pacienti tíhnou k podvýživě, často nadměrně užívají jednu nebo více alkoholových či nealkoholových látek a mají sklony vedoucí k závislosti na nich, jsou nespokojeni v psychosociálních vztazích a mnohdy nevykonávají dostatečné množství fyzické aktivity ku prospěchu jejich zdravotního stavu. Závěr: Životní styl a způsob života lidí s psychiatrickým onemocněním má možnost ovlivnit kvalitu jejich života a je tedy nevyhnutelně nutné se touto problematikou zabývat, nepodceňovat ji, a naopak zbystřit při jejím objevování, nepolevovat v její léčbě. Včasné odhalení a léčba úzkostných poruch tedy může vést ke zlepšení života pacientů.

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to examine four aspects of lifestyle in patients with anxiety disorder using quantitative research. Methodology: The method of data collection was a questionnaire composed of five already developer questionnaires. The Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA), Stress and load mapping was carried out using the so-called Škála zátěž a stres (Z.A.S.) scale, Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND), ADS questionnaire - Alcohol Dependence Scale and The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). The research data were collected from patients in the inpatient department of the psychiatric ward. The criterion for the selection of respondents was the diagnosis of anxiety disorder and patient's consent to participate in the research. The data were collected in the form of a questionnaire in the period from 3.10.2020 to 31.12.2020. The questionnaires were filled out by patients aged between 18 and 80 years during their hospitalization. 100 questionnaires were eventually usable given their correct completion. Results: The results showed that the lifestyle of patients with anxiety disorder is greatly affected by their disease. Patients are often malnourished. They often consume one or more alcoholic or non-alcoholic substances and tend to be addicted to them. They are dissatisfied with psychosocial relationships, and they do not perform physical activity to benefit their health enough. Conclusion: The lifestyle and way of life of people with psychiatric illness has the opportunity to influence their quality of life. It is important to deal with this issue. Not to underestimate it and do not to give up the treatment.
