English Language Teaching in Primary Schools with Focus on Montessori Education

Abstract:

Diplomová práce "Výuka angličtiny na 1. stupni základních škol se zaměřením na Montessori pedagogiku" se zabývá prvky Montessori pedagogiky a jejich využití ve výuce anglického jazyka na 1. stupni základních škol. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. V části teoretické se zabývám životem zakladatelky Marie Montessori, principy této pedagogiky a pojetím dítěte. Teoretická část dále obsahuje kapitoly zabývající se výukou anglického jazyka, charakterizuji vybrané tradiční i alternativní přístupy a metody. Empirická část byla vytvořena na základě pozorování, rozhovoru a experimentu ve formě realizace výuky anglického jazyka s Montessori prvky. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jakým způsobem probíhá výuka anglického jazyka se vzdělávacím programem Marie Montessori a které prvky lze realizovat ve výuce na klasické základní škole.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis English Language Teaching in Primary Schools with Focus on Montessori Education deals with the elements of Montessori pedagogy and their use in teaching English in primary schools. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, I describe life of the founder Maria Montessori, the principles of this pedagogy and the concept of the child. The theoretical part also contains chapters dealing with the teaching of the English language, characterizing selected traditional and alternative approaches and methods. The empirical part was created on the basis of observation, interview and experiment in the form of the implementation of English language teaching with Montessori elements. The aim of this work was to find out how to teach English language with the educational program of Marie Montessori and which elements can be used in a classical elementary school.
