Use of Benchmarking to Increase the Financial Performance of Companies Supplying Metal Components to the Automotive Industry

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zlepšení finanční výkonnosti společností, které vyrábějí a dodávají kovové součásti do automobilového průmyslu. Jedná se o 10 společností, které jsou dle zákona klasifikovány jako velké. Nástrojem pro zvýšení finanční výkonnosti je benchmarking, tedy porovnání a následné učení se a přijetí opatření, a to od společností, jejichž finanční výkonnost je na vyšší úrovni. Práce je složena ze dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část je zpracována na základě literární rešerše, týkající se uvedené problematiky. Praktická část obsahuje definici zvoleného odvětví a představení jednotlivých společností, poté je zaměřena na finanční výkonnost podniku, kde jsou metodou komparace zjištěny a okomentovány vzniklé rozdíly a jejich příčiny. Finanční výkonnost je měřena především tradičními, moderními, souhrnnými a ostatními ukazateli. Na závěr praktické části je vyhodnocena společnost s nejlepšími výsledky a popsána doporučení pro každou společnost individuálně.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of improving the financial performance of companies that manufacture and supply metal components to the automotive industry. It is 10 companies that are classified as large by law. The tool for improving financial performance is benchmarking, i.e. comparing and then learning and taking action, from companies whose financial performance is at a higher level. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is prepared on the basis of a literature search related to the mentioned issue. The practical part contains a definition of the chosen industry and introduction of individual companies, then it focuses on the financial performance of the company, where the method of comparison is used to identify and comment on the differences and their causes. Financial performance is measured mainly by traditional, modern, aggregate and other indicators. At the end of the practical part, the company with the best results is evaluated and the recommendations for each company individually are described.
