The Rett syndrome

Anotácia:

Bakalářská práce je věnována problematice Rettova syndromu z hlediska speciální pedagogiky. První kapitola je teoretická a zabývá se vlastním Rettovým syndromem – etiologií, diagnostikou, stádii postižení, charakteristickými projevy a možnostmi terapie a vzdělávání osob s tímto postižením. Druhá teoretická kapitola pojednává o komunikaci s vymezením pojmů komunikace, narušená komunikační schopnost, logopedická intervence a systémy alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Je zde také popsána komunikační schopnost osob s mentálním postižením a Rettovým syndromem a možnosti jejího rozvoje. Třetí kapitola je praktická a obsahuje vlastní výzkumné šetření provedené metodou kvalitativního výzkumu. Hlavním cílem šetření bylo zjistit, jaká je komunikační schopnost konkrétní dívky s Rettovým syndromem, a dalšími cíli bylo získat co nejvíce informací o celkovém stavu dívky a intervencím využívaným v základní škole speciální, kterou navštěvuje.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the problematics of the Rett syndrome from a point of view of the Special Education. The first – theoretical - chapter is focused on the Rett syndrome – its etiology, diagnostics, stages, signs and symptoms and the possibilities of a therapy and education of the persons with this disability. The second theoretical chapter deals with communication and definitions of the terms communication, communication disorders, speech therapy and augmentative and alternative communication systems. There are also descriptions of communication skills of persons with intellectual disability and with Rett syndrome, and possibilities of their advancement. The third chapter is the empirical one and contains the research project – a qualitative research. The aim of this thesis has been to find out as much information as possible about a holistic condition of the girl and about interventions used in the special school she attends, and especially the communication skills of the girl with the Rett syndrome.
