Abstract:

The main aim of this Bachelor Thesis is an analysis of the circumstances that influenced the decline of the political career of Winston Churchill after the Second World War. The thesis includes a brief biography of Winston Churchill's life before the war, where it is primarily focused on his maturing and his career in the British army. It also includes a description of Churchill's political career, from his beginnings until the end of the Second World War. The thesis further goes on to analyze the change of the situation post-war in Britain, and its effects on Churchill's political prestige. In the last chapter, the thesis deals with Churchill's crucial mistakes and flaws, their evaluation and the consequents they had on the post-war development of his career.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je analýza okolností, které měly vliv na úpadek politické kariéry Winstona Churchilla po druhé světové válce. Práce obsahuje stručnou předválečnou biografii Winstona Churchilla, kde se převážně soustředí na jeho dospívání a kariéru v britské armádě. Pozornost je rovněž věnována popisu Churchillovy politické kariéry, od jeho začátků až do konce druhé světové války. Dále se práce soustředí na rozbor poválečné změny v britské politice a ekonomii a jejich vlivy na politickou prestiž Winstona Churchilla. V poslední kapitole se práce zaměřuje na Churchillovy klíčové chyby a nedostatky, jejich zhodnocení a uvedení jejich důsledků na poválečný vývoj jeho kariéry.
