Doubts in compliance with the guidelines and their effect on postoperative pain in patients in Kyjov Hospital

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá otázkou, zda existuje významná souvislost mezi pochybením personálu v dodržování směrnice Management bolesti a intenzitou pooperační bolesti u vybraných pacientů na dvou rozdílných oborových jednotkách intenzivní péče v Nemocnici Kyjov. Teoretická část podává ucelený přehled o bolesti, o možnostech jejího měření, o známých, ale i méně zná-mých faktorech které mohou význam-ně ovlivňovat její intenzitu a v neposlední řadě také o strategii léčby bolesti. V empirické části jsme retrospektivním sběrem získávali ze zdravotnické dokumentace da-ta, která jsme zapisovali do záznamových archů vlastní konstrukce. Následně jsme u těchto dat statistickými metodami, Pearsonův chí-kvadrát test nezávislosti a Fisherův exaktní test, porovnávali vzájemné souvislosti. Výsledná data jsme zaznamenali číselně nebo graficky do tabulek a grafů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the question of whether there is a significant con-nection between the errors of the staff in following the Pain Management Guideline and the intensity of post-operative pain in selected patients at two different specia-list intensive care units in Kyjov Hospital. The theoretical part provides a compre-hensive overview of pain, the possibilities of its measurement, well-known but also lesser-known factors that can significantly influence its intensity and, last but not least, the strategy of pain treatment. In the empirical part, we obtained data from medical documentation through retrospective collection, which we entered into record sheets of our own design. Subsequently, we compared mutual correlations of these data using statistical methods, Pearson's chi-square test of independence and Fisher's exact test, to compare correlations with these data. We recorded the resul-ting data numerically or graphically in tables and graphs.
