The Issue of Food Waste in Uherské Hradiště District

Abstract:

Plýtvání potravinami na území okresu Uherské Hradiště je doposud minimálně analyzované téma. Přestože je v současnosti zvýšený zájem o snižování potravinového odpadu, absence znalosti současné situace a metodik brání v efektivní implementaci opatření. Práce si klade za cíl zmapovat, současné důvody plýtvání a dopady, které plýtvání potravinami způsobuje, popsat plýtvání napříč celým potravinovým řetězcem a definovat snížení plýtvání potravin na jednotlivých úrovních hierarchie nakládání s potravinovými přebytky. Praktická část nabízí modelová řešení, jež jsou aplikovatelná v praxi na úrovni spotřebitelů, města a okresu.

Abstract:

Food waste in Uherské Hradiště district is a minimally analyzed topic so far. Although there is currently an increased interest in reducing food waste, the lack of knowledge of the current situation and methodologies hinders the effective implementation of measures. The aim of the work is to map the current reasons for waste and the impacts food waste causes. Describes waste in the food chain and defines the reduction of food waste at individual levels of the hierarchy of food surplus management. The practical part will try to offer model solutions that can be applied in practice at the levels, consumers, city and district.
