The importance of social counseling for parents with autistic children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Význam sociálního poradenství pro rodiny s autistickými dětmi analyzuje formy sociálního poradenství v České republice, jakož i dalších služeb, vyhledávaných a využívaných rodinami s autistickým dítětem. Práce rozebírá poradenství v kontextu sociální práce a poskytuje přehled českého legislativního rámce sociálních služeb a z něj vyplývající typy sociálního poradenství. Dále následuje rozbor specifických rysů poruch autistického spektra a popis problematiky péče o danou cílovou skupinu. Formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s rodiči pěti autistických dětí je pak mapován proces získávání informací a pomoci ode dne diagnózy dítěte až po současnost, zachycuje hodnocení úrovně poskytovaných služeb a navrhuje na základě informací zjištěných od rodičů zlepšení v systému sociálního poradenství i mimo něj.

Abstract:

Bachelor Thesis The Importance of Social Counselling for Parents with Autistic Children provides an analysis of forms of social counselling in the Czech Republic, as well as other services sought and used by families with an autistic child. The Thesis investigates into counselling in the context of social work and presents an overview of Czech legislative framework of social services and resulting therefrom types of social counselling. A study of specific features of autism spectrum disorders follows, as well as a review of the issue of care of the target group. The process of acquisition of information and assistance services is then traced from the point of the first signs of the disorders up to the present state, based on semi-structured interviews with parents of five autistic children. Furthermore, the quality of the services provided to the parents is evaluated and improvements to the system of social counselling and beyond it are suggested, based on the information provided by the parents.
