Development of communication skills in a child with autism spectrum disorder

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá rozvojem komunikační schopnosti u dítěte s poruchou autistického spektra. Jedná se o chlapce v předškolním věku. Tato práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol. První dvě jsou sepsány na základě odborné literatury. První kapitola popisuje poruchy autistického spektra, definuje pojmy, etiologii a triádu problémových oblastí. Druhá kapitola se věnuje oblasti komunikace. Vymezuje důležité pojmy a popisuje obtíže a specifika v komunikaci osob s poruchami autistického spektra. Také se věnuje logopedické intervenci a alternativním a augmentativním metodám komunikace. Třetí kapitolu tvoří kvalitativní výzkum. Jsou zde vymezeny cíle práce a sepsána metodologie výzkumu. Dále kapitola obsahuje charakteristiku zkoumaného souboru a případovou studii sepsanou ze získaných informací o chlapci. Ke konci kapitoly jsou sepsány analýzy a vyhodnocení výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the communication skills development of a child with autism spectrum disorder. It describes a preschool boy. This thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first two chapters are based on literary sources. The first chapter describes autism spectrum disorders, defines some terms, etiology and a triad of impairments. The second chapter deals with the communication. It defines important terms and describes communication difficulties and specifics of people with autism spectrum disorder. It also deals with speech therapy and alternative and augmentative methods of communication. The third chapter describes the qualitative research that was conducted. The goals of the thesis and the methodology of the research are described there. Moreover, the chapter contains the characteristics of a sample and a case study based on the information about the boy. The analyses and the evaluation of the research are written at the end of this chapter.
