Experience of Gestalt Therapists and Cognitive Behavioral Therapists with a Training in their Approach

Abstract:

Práce prozkoumává zkušenost gestalt terapeutů a kognitivně behaviorálních terapeutů s výcvikem v jejich směru. Teoretická část přibližuje tyto dva směry, soustředí se na oblast vzdělávání v psychoterapii a blíže představuje výcviky v KBT a gestalt terapii. Zmíněny jsou také poznatky z výzkumu, který je však v této oblasti nedostatečný. Cílem výzkumné části práce bylo rozkrytí důležitých témat a významů zkušenosti s výcvikem u zmíněných dvou skupin terapeutů. V rámci kvalitativního výzkumu bylo provedeno osm rozhovorů, které byly analyzovány interpretativní fenomenologickou analýzou. Získána byla témata mapující poměrně širokou oblast této zkušenosti. Reflektovány byly faktory, které ovlivňují výběr konkrétního psychoterapeutického směru před vstupem do výcviku, aspekty výcviku, ke kterým se frekventanti staví kriticky, zmíněny byly přínosy výcviku pro praxi i osobnost a osobní život, specifické postupy přenesené do praxe a mapovány byly i určité procesy a posuny ve výcviku. Terapeuti také popisovali podstatné rysy své terapie, kde reflektovali především obecné účinné faktory psychoterapie. I přes odlišnost v charakteristikách směrů, ve kterých se respondenti vzdělávali, bylo nalezeno mnoho shodných zjištění, které mapují určité obecnější mechanismy, procesy či aspekty zkušenosti s výcvikem.

Abstract:

This work explores experience of gestalt therapists and cognitive behavioral therapists with a training in their approach. The theoretical part describes these two approaches and focus on the field of learning in psychotherapy. Moreover specifies training in CBT and gestalt therapy. Work presents findings from research, which is in this field insufficient. The aim of empirical part of the work was find out important themes and meaning of experience with a training in two groups of therapists. Within qualitative research was realize eight interviews and data were analyzed by the interpretative phenomenological analysis. I get themes, which point to wide field of this experience. Outcomes bring factors, which influence selection of psychotherapeutic approach, unsatisfactory aspects of training, benefits of training for profession, personality and personal life, specific methods transferred to practice and certain processes and shifts in training. Therapists described some essential aspects of their therapy, where recorded mainly common factors in psychotherapy. Despite of difference characteristics of approaches, in which respondents was learned, it was discovering many parallel findings, which involve some more general mechanisms, processes or aspects of experience with training.
