Listening comprehension and ITC in teaching French as a foreign language

Abstract:

This final thesis deals with the listening comprehension as one of the fundamental language skills and its practising through the ICT. Its aim is to show the possibilities that these methods offer in teaching French as a second language. The thesis is divided into 3 main parts – a theoretical, an empirical and a practical one. The first part treats the listening comprehension from the theoretical point of view. It offers an overview of this language competence throughout the 20th century to the present days. In addition, it surveys the terminological plan and presents the listening comprehension as a system of auditory and cognitive activities in a context of ICT. The empirical part examines the approach of how Czech and Slovak students and teachers of French as a second language perceive the listening comprehension. The final part proposes pedagogical sheets to listening comprehension practising through ICT.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o poslechu s porozuměním jako jedné ze základních řečových dovedností a jeho nácviku s využitím ICT. Jejím cílem je ukázat možnosti, které tyto prostředky poskytují ve výuce francouzštiny jako cizího jazyka. Práce je rozdělená na tři základní části – teoretickou, výzkumnou a praktickou. První část se zabývá poslechem s porozuměním z teoretického hlediska. Nabízí pohled na tuto řečovou dovednost od 20. století až po současnost. Zároveň studuje terminologické hledisko a představuje poslech jako systém auditivních a kognitivních činností v souvislosti s novými technologiemi ve výuce. Výzkumná část zkoumá jakým způsobem je vnímán poslech s porozuměním u českých a slovenských studentů a pedagogů francouzštiny. Závěrečná část potom tvoří metodické listy zaměřené na nácvik poslechu s porozuměním prostřednictvím informačních a komunikačních technologií.
