Application of alternative and augmentative systems of communication for students with multiple disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím komunikačních systémů alternativní a augmentativní komunikace u žáků s kombinovaným postižením. Zpracování práce je rozděleno do tří kapitol, z toho dvě jsou teoretické a jedna se věnuje vlastnímu výzkumu. Teoretická část je věnována charakteristice kombinovaného postižení, vlivu postižení na komunikační schopnost a definuje jednotlivé konkrétní komunikační systémy AAK. Praktická část se věnuje analýze komunikačních systémů AAK. Formou případových studií byli v Pardubickém kraji na základní škole speciální a základní škole praktické pozorováni tři žáci s kombinovaným postižením, přičemž každý využívá částečně odlišný komunikační systém AAK. V praktické části byla použita metoda aktivního pozorování, analýzy dokumentů a polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s logopedkou, třídními učitelkami, asistentkami pedagoga nebo osobními asistentkami.

Abstract:

The bachelor´s thesis concerns using communication systems, augmentative and alternative communication among students with multiple disabilities. Thesis is divided into three chapters, two of them are theoretical and one is dedicated to the research. The theoretical part defines multiple disability and its impact on the ability of communication, it also defines specific communication systems of alternative and augmentative communication. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of communication systems alternative and augmentative communication. In the Pardubice region in special elementary school and primary school were observed three students with multiple disabilities. Each of them uses a different communication system augmentative and alternative communication. In this part of thesis was used the method of active observation, document analysis and semi-structured interview with a speech therapist, classroom teachers, teacher assistants and personal assistants.
