The Web Presentations of the Public Libraries: the Analysis, the Project, the Creation, and the Administration

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Webové prezentace veřejných knihoven: analýza, návrh, tvorba, správa“ si klade za cíl nalézt takový systém pro tvorbu webových stránek, který by měl minimální náklady na provoz a zároveň jej mohli využívat knihovníci s nízkou počítačovou gramotností. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V úvodu teoretické části autorka hovoří o nezbytnosti existence webových stránek veřejných knihoven a stanovuje cílovou skupinu. V dalším úseku textu se pak zaměřuje na problematiku webových standardů, použitelnosti a přístupnosti webových stránek a na optimalizaci ve vyhledávačích. V tematických celcích následuje podrobný výčet prvků, které by měla webová prezentace veřejných knihoven obsahovat. V poslední kapitole teoretické části jsou stanoveny podmínky pro výběr aplikace k tvorbě webových stránek. Systém Webnode je pak vyhodnocen jako nejlépe splňující stanovené parametry. V praktické části je v tomto systému vytvořen podrobný manuál pro tvorbu webu. Návod obsahuje instrukce pro registraci, ovládání a vkládání prvků uvedených v teoretické části. Na základě příručky byla vytvořena vzorová webová prezentace fiktivní knihovny.

Abstract:

The Diploma Thesis “The Web Presentations of the Public Libraries: the Analysis, the Project, the Creation, and the Administration” aims to find such a system for the creation of the web sites that should have the minimal costs of operating, and at the same time it would be accessible for the use of the librarians with a low level of computer literacy. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. In the introduction of the theoretical part, the author mentions the necessity of existence of the web sites of the public libraries, and she sets the target group. In the following part of the text, she focuses on the issues of the web standards, of the usability and the accessibility of the web sites, and of the optimization in the search engines. In the thematic parts, the detailed enumeration of the components, which should be included in a web presentation of the public libraries, follows. In the last chapter of the theoretical part, the conditions for the selection of the application for the creation of the web sites are set. The system Webnode is then evaluated as the one which best fulfills the parameters set. In the practical part, a detailed manual for the creation of web sites is produced in the system already mentioned. The manual includes the instructions for registering, operating and inserting the components mentioned in the theoretical part. Following this manual, a sample web presentation of a fictional library was created.
