Evaluation of financial performance of engineering company

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje metodám hodnocená finančního výkonnosti strojírenských podniků v České republice. Cílem této práce je zdůraznit, že jako základní nástroj pro správné řízení podniku je právě hodnocení finanční výkonnosti. Práce se bude zaměřovat na podniky v odvětví strojírenství, na jeho specifičnost při správném rozhodování nad finančním řízením podniku. Tato specifika by měli manažeři a vlastníci respektovat, pokud chtějí při hodnocení a následném finančním řízení rozhodovat správně s ohledem na strojírenské odvětví. Pro praktické využití a vyšší vypovídací hodnotu práce bude zahrnuta případová studie, která hodnotí finanční výkonnost konkrétního strojírenského podniku. Tento strojírenský podnik si nepřeje uvádět svůj název v této práci. Hodnocení finanční výkonnosti podniku bude mít tři stupně hodnocení. Prvním stupněm bude finanční analýza na úrovni poměrových ukazatelů, druhým stupněm je výpočet ekonomické přidané hodnoty (ukazatel EVA). Výsledky těchto analýz budou porovnány s výsledky průměru za celé strojírenské odvětví, který bude vypočítán z dat publikovaných Ministerstvem průmyslu a obchodu ČR. Závěrečným stupněm bude provedení souhrnného modelu výkonnosti strojírenského podniku pomocí vývoje indexu IN. V závěru bakalářské práce bude kritické vyhodnocení dosažených výsledků z právě těchto tří stupňů analýzy a navrhnuty opatření na zlepšení finančního řízení podniku.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of observing financial performance evaluation of engineering enterprises in the Czech Republic. The goal of this thesis is to amplify the importance of the enterprise's financial management as a basic key to successful management of the enterprise itself. This thesis will concentrate on engineering enterprises and its specifics when it comes to its financial management. These specifics should be considered by the enterprise's managers and owners in order they make the right decisions when it comes to their financial decisions and financial evaluation of the enterprise - all this with considering all the engineering enterprise's specifics. This thesis will also include a case study of a concrete engineering enterprise that will evaluate its financial performance. This enterprise wishes to remain anonymous. This financial performance evaluation will have 3 levels. The first will be the financial analysis shown in ratios, the later will consist of the calculation of the economic value added (EVA index). The results of this analysis will be compared with average results of the whole engineering sector published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The third lever of the evaluation will be an overall model of the performance of an engineering company using the development of the IN index. All the three levels of this evaluation will deliver a critical assessment of the results given by the analysis; and steps and measures will be recommended to the enterprise analyzed to improve its financial management.
