Předložená práce odkrývá dějiny oblasti Jeseníků, vznik prvních obcí a jejich osud. Zabývá se událostmi, které ovlivnily nejen tuto pohraniční oblast, ale stali se také dějinami světovými. Poznatky ze života lidí obce Leskovec nad Moravicí, jedné z prvních obcí Jeseníků, jejich osudy a vyprávění očitých svědků pomáhají pochopit celou dějinnou epochu.
