Combinatorics of finite mappings

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá kombinatorikou zobrazení mezi konečnými množinami. Jejím hlavním úkolem je posloužit jako doplňkový studijní text ke kurzu vysokoškolské kombinatoriky. Práce je rozdělena do šesti kapitol, ve kterých postupně budujeme celou problematiku. Nejprve jsou zde zavedeny konečná zobrazení. Poté se věnujeme rozkladům množin a s nimi souvisejícími Stirlingovým číslům druhého druhu a Bellovým číslům. Následně rozebíráme rozklady přirozených čísel na sčítance a rozdělování předmětů do přihrádek. V dalším jsou pak studovány permutace, jejich rozklad na nezávislé cykly a Stirlingova čísla prvního druhu. Nakonec se zaměřujeme na princip inkluze a exkluze a jeho užití k odvození některých explicitních vyjádření. Samostatně odvozeným výsledkem této diplomové práce je rozpracování přidružených Stirlingových čísel druhého druhu, včetně jejich možného použití v problematice rozdělování předmětů do přihrádek.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with combinatorics of mappings between finite sets. The main goal of this work is to serve as a supplementary study texts for the course in university combinatorics. The thesis is divided into six chapters, which gradually build up the whole issue. First, final mappings are introduced. Then we focus on partitions of sets and, related to them, Stirling numbers of the second kind and Bell numbers. Afterwards we discuss the partitions of natural numbers on summands and distributing balls among urns. In what follows permutations are studied, namely their disjoint cycle factorization and Stirling numbers of the first kind. Finally, we deal with the principle of inclusion and exclusion and its application to derive some explicit formulas. The self-derived result of this thesis is considering associated Stirling numbers of the second kind, including their potential use in the issue of distributing balls among urns.
