Experimental test field for studying of thermal stressing of winding insulation

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou ohřevu závitu vinutí asynchronního motoru a degradace jeho izolace při překročení povolené teploty. Práce zkoumá teoretické aspekty přenosu tepla a aplikuje je na praktické příklady ohřevu závitů elektrických strojů. Hlavním aspektem práce je poté tvorba měřícího zařízení a samotné měření oteplení vzorku, kterým je závit asynchronního motoru. Poslední kapitoly detailně popisují výsledky měření oteplení vzorku procházeného elektrickým proudem a jejich zpracování. Měření bylo prováděno při různých hodnotách primárního proudu a teplota byla vzorkována každých 250 ms, což umožnilo detailní sledování teplotních změn a analýzu ustáleného teplotního stavu. Z výsledků je patrné, že opravdu došlo k potvrzení původního předpokladu, tedy dochází k většímu oteplení ohybů než částí rovných. Rozdíl mezi oteplením zahnutých částí oproti částem rovným byl téměř 14 °C, a to konkrétně při měření, kdy sekundární částí obvodu protékal proud 1056,5 A. Nabízí se tedy myšlenka, že může izolace degradovat více v ohybech, neboť v nich dochází k většímu oteplení při průchodu elektrickým proudem.

Abstract:

This thesis addresses the issue of heating the winding turns of an asynchronous motor and the degradation of its insulation when the permissible temperature is exceeded. The work examines the theoretical aspects of heat transfer and applies them to practical examples of heating in electric machine windings. The main focus of the thesis is the development of a measuring device and the actual measurement of the temperature increase in a sample, specifically a winding turns of an asynchronous motor. The final chapters provide a detailed description of the temperature measurement results of the sample through which electric current was passed and their processing. The measurements were conducted at various values of primary current, and the temperature was sampled every 250 ms, allowing for detailed monitoring of temperature changes and analysis of the steady-state temperature condition. The results clearly confirm the original hypothesis, indicating that there is indeed greater heating of the bends than the straight sections. The difference in temperature rise between the bent sections and the straight sections was almost 14 °C, specifically in measurements where a current of 1056.5 A flowed through the secondary part of the circuit. This suggests that the insulation may degrade more in the bends, as they experience greater heating when electric current passes through them.
