Integration of Vietnamese children in primary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice integrace vietnamských dětí na 1. stupni základní školy. V teoretické části vymezuje pojmy úzce související s tématem, jako je adaptace, etnikum, národnostní menšina a migrace. Dále se zabývá historickým vývojem migrace Vietnamců, přibližuje vybraná specifika vietnamské kultury a také výchovu a vzdělávání ve Vietnamu v historickém kontextu. Přibližuje možnosti úspěšného začlenění Vietnamských dětí na 1. stupni. V praktické části s využitím metod kvalitativního výzkumu poskytuje hlubší pohled na problematiku integrace vietnamských dětí. Za pomoci rozhovorů s vietnamskými dětmi, jejich rodiči a učiteli odkrývá možné příčiny úspěchu či neúspěchu integrace vietnamských dětí. Cílem praktické části je poskytnout hlubší pohled na problematiku integrace vietnamských dětí na nižším stupni základní školy, beroucí v potaz nejen školní prostředí, ale také rodinné zázemí jednotlivých dětí. Budu se zabývat tím, jaké vlivy působí na integraci vietnamských dětí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of integration of Vietnamese children in the lower part of elementary school. The theoretical part defines terms closely connected to the topic, such as adaptation, ethnicity, ethnical minority and migration. It further sketches the historical development of the migration of the Vietnamese; it describes selected specificities of Vietnamese culture and also education in Vietnam from the historical point of view. It examines the possibilities of successful integration of Vietnamese children in the lower part of elementary school. Using methods of qualitative research, the practical part presents a deeper insight into the issues of integration of Vietnamese children. Through interviews with Vietnamese children, their parents and teachers it reveals the possible causes of success and failure of the integration of Vietnamese children. The aim of the practical part is to present a deeper insight into the issues of integration of Vietnamese children in the lower part of the elementary school taking into consideration not only the school environment, but also the family environment of the individual children. I am going to deal with the question of which influences affect the integration of Vietnamese children.
